Tenthwave developed a single source of brand identity with flexibility to market independently. Each product received its own sitelet within the master brand’s web and social properties. Detailed communication calendars analyzed the effectiveness of our messaging and drove traffic to the most important areas of site. The strategy yielded a cohesive but product-specific series of campaigns including: the Live Music Series and ESPN’s The Next Round video series for Jim Beam; the award-winning Beamfire social engagement for Jim Beam Black; and the rich-media launch campaign of Devil’s Cut.

Tenthwave's execution of Shazam's first foray into "gamifying" registrations was a game-changer for the client. The song-tagging functionality was adapted for similar programs for other artists, including Coldplay, Justin Beiber, Ke$ha, Lady Antebellum, Lil’ Wayne, Kelly Clarkson and more—and has even been used as a promotional tactic tied to Shazam’s television commercials.

Steve has been a passionate promotion marketer for more than 20 years, contributing to the industry's adaptation to the digital age. He has spoken frequently on the topic on behalf of the Promotion Marketing Association (PMA). In 1995, he helped launch one of the early online instant win games, and he found himself in the similar position in 2010, helping to construct interactive promotion applications for brand clients on the Facebook and Twitter platforms. In 2005, he founded Strobe Promotions, building it into one of the leading promotion agencies in the country.

Steve's experience and understanding of marketing spans a broad spectrum of industries, and he’s successfully engineered promotions (many of them award-winning), for market leaders including AT&T, Kraft Foods, NBC Cable Networks, eBay and Visa USA.
